What we offer

We benchmark our salaries using independent surveys to ensure they are fair and competitive. All our people have 33 days of annual leave (including public holidays), rising to 38 days with length of employment. We provide a generous pension scheme in the UK, contributing up to 6% of salary. We offer enhanced maternity pay and are open to discuss flexible working options.

We provide all our people with the skills and opportunities to grow and realise their potential. We support a variety of formal and informal learning opportunities for staff, including time-off to attend training and assistance with training costs.

  • Job title: Project Coordinator – Daka River Trees Restoration Project

    Reporting to: Country Programme Manager and Matric manager - the Country Director of Tree Aid Ghana

    Key relationships: The Country programme Manager, The country Director, Finance officers, and West Africa and UK teams (minimal relationship).

    Objectives: To ensure that project due processes are followed and project deliverables are achieved to time and budget.

    Location: Yendi, Gusheigu municipalities and Mion District of Northern Region (Note: Officer must be prepared to relocate and stay at any of these areas to facilitate work)

    Type of contract: One year contract with a possible renewal of contract up to a total of 3 years depending on availability of funds.

     

    Job Summary: The Daka River Trees Restoration project started in 2018 and this is the phase five of the project with Funding from Ecosia Company. The project focus on ecosystem restoration of the Daka riverine buffers through forest governance approaches for sustainable management and improve livelihood options for the riverine communities.

     

    Academic Qualifications:

    • First degree in in relevant subject (natural resource management, Integrated Development studies, Agronomy, Environment etc) or related field.
    • A Master’s degree in the related field is an added advantage

     

    Required skills and experience:

    • Must have at least five (5) years working experience in a similar role
    • Must have demonstrated leadership skills/ability to work in a team and influence others
    • Must share the vision and the values of Tree Aid
    • Must have experience in sustainable integrated food systems in Ghana
    • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
    • Excellent verbal communication and written skills
    • Ability to balance a number of conflicting demands (multi – task).
    • Must be computer literate – good in excel, word and power point
    • Must be confident, smart working, able to work under pressure, and time conscious
    • Ability to work independently, self-initiative and with good team work and rapport
    • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets including extensive travel in the field
    • Must be bold, ambitious, professional, transparent, ready to learn and accountable
    • Must have working knowledge in one of the languages spoken in northern region, Ghana
    • Ability to speak French is an added advantage
    • Riding and or driving licenses is an added advantage

    Location: Yendi, Mion and Gusheigu, Ghana (Note: Officer must be prepared to relocate to any of these areas to facilitate tasks)

    Type of contract: Full-time, one year position (renewable)

     

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Must have HND or First degree in natural resource management, Agriculture engineering, forestry, environmental science, agronomy or in any related field.

     

    Required skills and experience:

    • Must have at least three (1) year working experience in a similar position
    • Must share the vision of Tree Aid
    • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
    • Good verbal communication and written skills
    • Ability to balance a number of conflicting demands
    • Must be computer literate – excel, word, power point
    • Must be confident, hardworking, able to work under pressure, and time conscious
    • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets including extensive travel in the field
    • Must have working knowledge in one of the local languages spoken in northern region, Ghana especially Dagbani and Likpakpaln.
    • Must be able to ride a motorbike extensively with riding licenses
