Leave a gift in your will

Make a lasting impact in the drylands of Africa by leaving a gift in your Will.

Leaving a gift in your Will is an incredible way for you to make a lasting impact. Gifts in Wills enable us to continue planning ahead. With your support, we can help communities to grow nutritious food and incomes today, and grow trees and restore the environment for future generations.

Your lasting gift

Leaving a gift in your Will means leaving a lasting impact after you're gone. Above all, it's a gift that will continue supporting the things that are important to you

There are a few ways to remember a charity in your Will. To help you understand the three types of gift you can leave, read our guide to leaving a gift in your will.

Creating your Will

If you would like to include Tree Aid in your Will we advise that you visit your solicitor. But you can also set up a free Will using an online Will-writing site like Bequeathed. This site helps you identify issues you might not have thought about, where expert legal advice will be valuable.

If you decide to pay for legal advice, simply ask Bequeathed to transfer your interview to one of their accredited firms of solicitors. They can advise you by telephone or in-person once you have agreed on the fee. The time you have spent answering the interview questions is time they don’t need to charge you for.

Your impact

In the last year, supporters helped communities to grow over two million trees. That’s the progress that you’re helping to make every year. But growing trees is a long-term solution — and it needs careful, long-term planning to continue.

If you do decide to include Tree Aid in your Will, you can be confident we'll make the most of your gift. In the last year (2019/20) for every £1 raised, we spent 85p on programme delivery, 1p on advocacy and awareness work and 14p on our fundraising activities.

"The tree is your life! The tree is used for food and medicine from childhood. It lets you earn an income as an adult. And in old age, it provides a cane to help you walk. We must do all we can to plant. Because trees are life and are the best companions to all of us." Aïcha, Nagraogo village, Burkina Faso
