Tree Aid – London Marathon 2026 Fundraising Terms and Conditions

Before you apply for our TCS London Marathon 2026 place, you must read and agree to the terms and conditions below. These terms are a fundraising agreement between you and Tree Aid.

Tree Aid has the right to change or update the terms and conditions at its discretion and participants are invited to regularly check this page for updates.

  1. Registration
  • A non-refundable registration fee of £100 is required to secure your place. This must be paid within seven days of accepting your place by email.
  • Your £100 registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and will not be counted towards your overall fundraising target.
  • Tree Aid reserves the right to cancel your place if the registration fee is not paid by the deadline.
  • You understand that Tree Aid may need to share your name and email address with the event organiser and where necessary, with other third parties involved in the administration of the event. You may be required to complete an additional registration form for the third-party event organiser so they can confirm your entry into the event. You agree that it is your responsibility to ensure this form is completed by the given deadline. You understand that if it is not completed your event entry may be withdrawn. We will make reasonable efforts to make you aware if this is applicable to your entry and what the deadline for completion is.
  1. Fundraising Commitment
  • By accepting a charity place with Tree Aid, you commit to raising a minimum of £2,500 (excluding Gift Aid). This is essential to support our work, and we rely on participants to meet this target. If you anticipate difficulty, please contact us to discuss options.
  • When confirming your charity place with Tree Aid, you agree to meet the following fundraising milestones. Failure to do so may result in Tree Aid withdrawing your charity place in the event.
  • If you have signed up as a charity place runner before 31 October 2025, you will need to raise a minimum of 25% of your fundraising target (£625) by 1 January 2026.
  • If you have signed up as a charity place runner after 31 October 2025, you will need to raise a minimum of 25% of your fundraising target (£625) within eight weeks of signing up to the event.
  • For all charity place runners, you will need to raise a minimum of 80% (£2,000) of your overall fundraising by race day.
  • You agree to contact the Supporter Care team if at any point you feel that you need additional fundraising support. Tree Aid will email you to share event information, training tips, and advice to support you to reach your fundraising target.
  1. Use of Funds
  • All funds raised must go directly to Tree Aid and cannot be used to cover personal expenses (e.g. travel, accommodation, or race gear).
  • If your supporters donate directly to you (e.g., via cash), you must promptly forward these funds to Tree Aid via the approved methods (e.g., online platform, bank transfer).
  • All donations online and offline should be sent in no later than four weeks after the event.
