By giving trees, tools and training you can help a family stay safe from hunger.

Choose how you would like to give

£5 a month over the course of a year could provide a community with six life-changing trees that can provide income, food, and environmental protection.
£8 a month over 12 months could provide a family with the tools they need in order to look after their trees, including watering cans, pruning tools, buckets and wheelbarrows.
£14 a month for a year could provide ‘grafting’ training for nine people. This technique enables trees to reach maturity sooner and give more fruit for processing into shea butter.
£15 a quarter over the course of a year could provide a community with six life-changing trees that can give a family nutritious food and produce to sell all year round.
£24 a quarter over one year could provide a family with the tools they need to look after their trees, including watering cans, pruning tools, buckets and wheelbarrows.
£42 a quarter for a year could provide ‘grafting’ training for nine people. This technique enables trees to reach maturity sooner and give more fruit to eat.
£60 a year could provide a community with six life-changing trees that can give a family nutritious food and produce to sell all year round.
£96 a year could provide a family with the tools they need in order to look after their trees, including watering cans, pruning tools, buckets and wheelbarrows.
£170 a year could provide ‘grafting’ training for nine people. This technique enables trees to reach maturity sooner and give more fruit to eat.
A gift of £30 could buy three shea or moringa trees for families in Africa, providing food for years to come.
A gift of £50 could give a family five life-giving trees: moringa, baobab, shea, mango and apple – which means nutrition and an income.
A gift of £75 could help a group of farmers set up a shea tree business, so they can earn an income and provide for their family’s needs.

Watch Gifty's Story

Gifty and her community have received help from Tree Aid’s supporters to earn an income from shea trees. They received machinery to speed up the process of producing shea butter and received training in business skills to ensure they get the best price for their butter at market. Gifty has been able to transform her life with this income.

Why trees

🌳 Trees provide fruit, nuts, leaves and seeds- nutritious food for families to eat, protecting families from hunger.

🌳 They are resilient during droughts and thrive even when crops don’t.

🌳 Trees enrich the soil, encouraging crops to grow better

🌳 Fruits, nuts and seeds can be sold to buy medicine, nutritious food, or school uniforms and books.

Why Tree Aid

For nearly 40 years, Tree Aid has been working with people across Africa to overcome hunger and poverty by growing trees, restoring land and supporting families to earn an income from tree produce. In that time, we have grown 40 million trees and supported almost 723,000 people.

You can help create:

  • A stable food supply for healthier families
  • A thriving natural environment – reversing deforestation
  • Resilient communities with skills and tools to make sustainable business using tree products
  • Land ownership rules that give farmers access to land and trees

Where your donation goes

Whether you choose to give a one-off donation or a regular gift, you can be sure that your gift will be put to good use right away, providing support to communities across Africa’s drylands to protect their environment and grow a better future. During 2023/24, for every £1 raised, we spent 90p on charitable activities, 9p on raising the next pound, and 1p on advocacy and awareness.
